Joined a new gym

I stopped going to my old gym back in November. The yoga teacher quit the gym and the spinning instructors were TERRIBLE (those are 2 of the activities I enjoydoing on a gym). I also got tired of having to wait 20 minutes everyday to be able to get my car in the parking lot. The installations were good and the people was cool, but I wanted more.

So I spent some time gym hunting last week, trying to decide where to go next. I finally decided yesterday (and signed up today) for what is now the new gym I’ll be going to. It’s a bit far from my house (could take me between 10 minutes to 1 hour to get there, depending on traffic), but it offers both yoga and spinning almost every day, with different instructors, so I’m pretty sure I can find a schedule/instructor that I like.

It also has another great thing, and the main reason I choose that gym, it has a pool!! I am so excited about getting into swimming again. I plan to go tomorrow morning for a quick swim and then join a spinning class, should be fun.

I went today after I signed up, did a 4k run on the treadmill which was fun, I can see the pool while running on the TM. Also the TM didn’t have a time limit, and that’s awesome! On my old gym you cold only be 20 mins on one, which often caused some angry old ladies giving me ‘the look’ while I was training for the marathon!

I’m of to bed now, I’ll update soon with posts about how much I suck at swimming right now.

Its exciting to work out in a new facility isn’t it? Glad to hear you’ll have access to a pool and lots of fun classes. And no time limit on the TM! AWESOME. After I was kicked off a few times at my old gym I swore I’d never join a gym again with a time limit. How do they seriously expect you to get a real work out in 20 min?!

20 minutes to get your car into the parking lot? That’s CRAZY!

Glad you were able to find another one that sounds much better even if it is further away. Happy swimming!!

Wow, it could take an hour to get to your gym? But it sounds like a nice one, anyway! They must not have as many gyms where you are as they do with me. (Of course ours do not have pools in many instances.)

Very glad to hear you’re coming back to exercising and blogging more often, although your reasons for doing so last fall – well, I just hope your family is alright.
