I found this article today about the coolest geekiest shoes ever invented. Just looking at the picture makes me giggle, I can’t imagine running on them for other reason that to call people’s attention. Here’s a picture of the Vibram Five Fingers:

However, if you read and watch the video review on wired they will tell you that the shoes are great to avoid injuries, but what do the people on wired know about running anyways?? Still, would you wear them?
I would, if they would spare me most my plantar and knee pain. I don’t mind looking like an idiot if i’m staying healthy in return. BTW good luck with the SF marathon and congrats on your runnersworld blog! cheers
Oh mm I got confused, hehe. About the blog, I thought raverun… you know… I’m kind of embarrassed. Anyway, good luck in SF!
Haha. One of my coworkers just came to me asking the same question. I read in Runner’s World that barefoot running is not good for people with high arches and I’ve got some killer high arches so I abandoned that idea before I even started. But for those with nice semi-flat arches I can see it working…
They are pretty funny looking! But I have seen a couple barefoot runners (real barefoot runners) in marathons before and every time I have to do a swim-bike transition in a tri, I wish I’d done more barefoot running myself. My feet are so wimpy barefoot.
Have to admit, i wear the toe-socks, which freak my husband out to no end, but I would not wear those things. I know they’re supposed to be better but um, yeah, no….
Enjoying following you on twitter – hope you can get some sleep tonight before the race, or that you did last night anyway. You’re gonna do awesome, let us know your bib number if you can, so we can track you if the race allows cyber stalkers!
@ Terri:
What? they can do that? that’s awesome! how does one go about it? (stalking)
